Depends on your starting position. If your site has weak SEO foundations like slow speed, broken architecture, or thin content, fix those first because they are prerequisites for AEO anyway and the work counts toward both. If your site already ranks well in Google but is not getting cited in AI answers, prioritize AEO because the lift from making your content extractable and your entity signals clean is large and fast. Sites doing both win twice.
